Year of Truth: All things run in cycles, including the rise and fall of civilizations. An old adage reminds us to keep one eye on the stars, and one eye on the steady step, which seems to be good advice, especially during these times. A series of Dave Costa guitar stabs and the sharp drums hits of Andy David opens the title track of the album, and from there is it just go. Put simply, the cascading dysfunction of society sure seems to reflect the long time counts of the ancients, and ideas like the precession of the equinoxes might be described as the ‘wheels of change’. If that sounds complicated, just turn this song up loud, think about where we are and sing along with the choruses. This soundtrack for destruction is perfect for the massive basslines of Brian Taylor.
lyrics
Year of Truth
Left! Right! Dis-cord! Left ! Right! (The chaos lords)
Far off the path now/the wheel marks the time
In the years of unveiling, the stars and planets are the signs
In the year of truth, the wheel of change, and what it brings
Progress in a vacuum/Dystopia grows the seeds….
One! Two! Adapt or Lose! One! Two! You Choose!
Nation-state power plays/the failures to align.
Society in a spiral/material culture in decline
Well beyond your logic/ Fate casts a heavy hand
Denial is a vain attempt / -No longer to pretend.
In the years of truth, the wheel of change, and all it brings
Progress in a vacuum/Dystopia grows the seeds….
Chaos is the symptom of this reality
The wheels of change brings our destiny.
One! Two! Adapt or Lose! One! Two! You Choose!
So Choose….
The cycles of destruction have now only just begun
In timelines long ignored -now it brings, now it brings your destiny ~
The precession of the equinox/ and what it means
Progress in a vacuum/the dystopia sows the seeds
Chaos is the symptom of our reality
The wheels of change brings our destiny
It’s the year of truth, the wheel of change, and what brings
Progress in a vacuum/Dystopia grows the seeds….
Chaos is the symptom of this reality
The wheel of change brings Our destiny
