In Our Face: Straight out of the gate comes this burner in true punk rock fashion, and with that Unit F launches into a casual observation about the rampant economic disparity currently on display in Southern California (and most likely in a city center near you as well). This song is our crunching sonic outrage, sparked by the ever-widening gaps between the classes and evidenced by a hyped barrage of glorified displays of unending wealth. So when those glamorized social trappings of the super-rich are magnified and amplified, it’s hard not to realize that it is all just being thrown in our face, even while normal salaries fail miserably to keep pace with the basic cost of survival. And of course, our elected representatives, the politicians, are concerned….very concerned about getting re-elected….
lyrics
In Our Face
The rich get richer and its every day
We go on playing ‘cause it’s in our face
Mega Rich to celebrate
Media coverage so we see the bait….
Oh It’s in our face
Oh They love to take
Blackout rims on the Bentley cool
For the chosen ones only a million or two
Corporate sport star or a corpo tool
Come on baby what’cha going to do
Class division is nothing new
In a modern era, still run by the few
Further and further, and farther away
ungodly wealth in a run away
Oh It’s in our face
Oh They love to take
Run for office it’s a billion or two/Financial schemes to further the few
Entitled elites in a runaway, But you- your gunna stay in your place
Chasing each other while the order never changes/Rich get richer and fat get fatter
Excessive wealth is always in sight/Millions and Billions, but damn! our wages are tight~
Oh They love to take Oh! It’s in our face
Public office and we haven’t got a seat
Buckets of crabs never sense defeat
Frogs in a pot, as they turn up the heat
Just wave the flag cause you’re living the Dream!
Oh Oh They love to take/ Oh It’s in our face
Oh It’s in our face / Oh They love to take
